24 High School Students from Sendai Visit Tulsa, Oklahoma on the Kizuna Project

)The Japanese Government launched a youth exchange program named the “Kizuna Project” with the aim of promoting understanding of Japan’s effort to recover from the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. As part of this program, 24 students of Seiwa Gakuen High School of Sendai visited Tulsa, Oklahoma from October 13 to 16. They visited Booker T. Washington High School and interacted with local people through homestay and various activities. On October 15, they gave a presentation on their experience after the earthquake at the City Hall and at a community event, where local people gathered to hear about the current situation of Japan’s recovery effort. Consul-General Yamamoto sent a message to thank the people who support this project and to highlight the importance of the U.S.-Japan Alliance, which played a critical role in Japan’s recovery effort.
