On March 30, Consul General Nozomu Takaoka attended the inaugural ceremony for the United Airlines' 2nd daily nonstop flight from Houston to Tokyo with Ms. Stephanie Buchanan, Vice President Houston Hub, Mr. Hajime Suzuki, Vice President of Kuraray America and Mr. Takashi Nakamizo, Chief Executive Director, JETRO Houston. This new Houston-Narita flight departs from Houston at 09:00am and arrives in Narita at 12:35pm the next day. In return, it departs from Narita at 18:55pm and arrives in Houston at 16:55pm the next day.
In his remarks, Consul General celebrated the commencement of this new flight and stated that during his brief period in Houston as Consul General, he has been able to see growing and flourishing bilateral exchanges between Japan, Houston and Texas, which have been strongly bolstered by United Airlines' initiatives and commitment to make Houston a strong port for Asia with Tokyo at the other end of the line.
He also mentioned that this new Houston-Narita flight is timed to provide smoother connections not only for those who travel to other Asian cities, but also for those who travel to Asia from major Latin American cities such as Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Lima and many Mexican cities.
The ceremony was completed with the commencement of boarding procedures for those eager passengers waiting for this new flight departing to Tokyo. |
