On November 1, Japan America Society Houston (JASH) hosted a gala at the Omni Hotel. The venue was filled with more than 240 people who were engaged in promoting the friendship between Japan and the U.S. and Honorary Conressman Joaquin Castro, Co-chairman of U.S.-Japan Caucus delivered a keynote speech.
In his remarks (link), Consul General Nozomu Takaoka appreciated the continuous efforts of JASH for the Consulate and praised its role in promoting the relations between Japan and Houston through various cultural events. President of JASH Junjiro Naoki also appreciated the warm support and assistance from participants and stressed his intention to strengthen JASH’s activities to promote the friendship between Japan and the U.S. in Houston.
After an introduction by Honorary Chair and President & CEO of Sanchez Energy Corp. Antonio Sanchez, Congressman Castro stated the importance of the bilateral relationship and stressed that as a co-chairman of the U.S.-Japan Caucus he will make efforts to maintain the relationship and promote mutual understanding. |
