On January 12, the inauguration ceremony of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin was held in the plaza of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Governor Fallin detailed the achievements of her first term and stressed her commitment to work for the people of Oklahoma. Consul General Nozomu Takaoka was present at the ceremony and congratulated her on her inauguration, stating that he is happy that the economic relationship between Japan and Oklahoma is strengthening. He also expressed his hope for a stronger relationship in the future, as this year marks the 30th anniversary of the sister-state relationship between Kyoto and Oklahoma.
