On February 26, Consul-General Takaoka met with the Honorable Carlos Cascos, Texas Secretary of State in Austin. Mr. Kanji Yamanouchi, Minister for Economic Affairs and Mr. Yoshiro Taguchi, Transportation Counselor also joined the meeting from the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C. The group discussed the positive prospect of economic relationship between Texas and Japan, including the proposed High-Speed Rail project to connect Houston and Dallas. State Secretary Cascos expressed his wish to realize his first visit to Japan in the near future. |
