On March 10, Consul-General Takaoka visited Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) , which has been operating business of motors and other industrial products in U.S. for 45 years and has its head office and plants in Houston. This pioneering decision by a Japanese company to invest in this region led to employment of over 2,000 people throughout North America, including about 1,700 jobs in Houston area.
