On March 20, Consul General Takaoka delivered a lecture at the Rice University Chao Center for Asian Studies. Following an introduction by Director Sonia Ryang, Consul General Takaoka spoke about Japan's economic situation and security policy, Japan's relationship with Texas, and answered questions from the audience. About 20 university staff and students attended the lecture and enjoyed the opportunity to learn about Japan.
