On April 23, Tea Ceremony Workshop was held at Japan Garden in Hermann Park in Houston and Ms. Yumi Takaoka, Wife of Consul General of Japan in Houston, and prominent female community leaders in Houston participated. The Consulate General of Japan in Houston organized this event in the collaboration with Tea Ceremony School Urasenke in Houston, which gave a lecture on tea ceremony. Executive Director Doreen Stoller, Conservatory Director Barbara Jo Harwell and Board member Kunio Minami from Hermann Park Conservatory Committee guided the Japan Garden tour.
