On March 23rd, Consul-General Fukushima attended the opening ceremony of Eight Turn Crepe, a shop selling Japanese-style crepes in the “Asian Town” section of Houston’s western suburb of Katy.

Eight Turn Crepe opened its first shop serving authentic Harajuku style crepes in New York 6 years ago, before launching the new location in Houston.

On the day of the ceremony, the presence of girls dressed in cosplay made for a lively atmosphere, and the shop filled with customers who enjoyed the rich variety of Japanese-style crepes.

Recently, the “Asian Town” area of Katy has become a popular place for shops that sell Japanese food and goods to locate, and it attracts many members of the local community who are interested in Japanese culture.
