KAKEHASHI Project - Japanese High School Delegation Visits Texas
2022/9/3

KAKEHASHI Project is a part of the youth exchange program between Japan and North America which is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to promote deeper mutual understanding among the people of Japan and the United States, enable future leaders of Japan-U.S. exchanges to form networks, and help young people develop wider perspectives to encourage active roles at the global level.
As the first group of high school delegation by the KAKEHASHI Project this year, 16 high school students from Otemon Gakuin High School (Osaka), Otemon Gakuin Daimon High School (Osaka), Dazaifu High School(Fukuoka), and Chikushi High School (Fukuoka) visited Texas from August 25 to 31. They visited Houston, San Antonio, and Fredericksburg, where they toured various locations, exchanged views with local high school students, and conducted home visits.
On August 26, the group paid a courtesy visit to Consul General Murabayashi. After the greeting, they received an overview of the Japan-Texas relationship from the Consulate staff, and a lecture by the JAXA Houston Representative Office on the JAXA and Japan's contribution to space development.
