Consul General Murabayashi’s Meeting with Corpus Christi City Manager Zanoni

 
     On September 23, Consul General Murabayashi met with the City Manager of Corpus Christi, Mr. Peter Zanoni, during his official trip to South Texas. Corpus Christi marks its 60^th anniversary of the sister city relationship with Yokosuka City in Kanagawa Prefecture this year. Corpus Christi has close relations with Japan through the Port of Corpus Christi, the fifth largest exporting port to Japan in Texas. At the meeting, Consul General Murabayashi asked if Corpus Christi plans to hold any events to celebrate its 60^th anniversary of the sister city relationship with Yokosuka City. City Manager Zanoni responded that Corpus Christi’s new fiscal year starts in October, so city administration and council will consider resuming events with sister cities soon, following a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
