Consul General Murabayashi Visits Toshiba International Corporation with Houston Mayor Turner

On January 30, Consul General Murabayashi joined Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Greater Houston Partnership President & CEO, Bob Harvey for a tour of the Toshiba International Corporation manufacturing campus in Houston. The group toured the four expansive plants as a follow up to the Houston trade mission to Japan, led by Mayor Turner last October.
In the welcoming presentations, Consul General Murabayashi called the trade mission a historic event on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Chiba-Houston sister city friendship and emphasized the importance of continuing to follow up. Mayor Turner highlighted to the many Houston projects that were made possible because of Toshiba, contributing to the city’s growth as an advanced manufacturing and technology center. Toshiba International Corporation President & CEO, Ken Takagi spoke about the shared goal of the company and of the City of Houston to focus on energy transition and carbon neutrality.
This tour comes as Toshiba celebrates 50 years in Houston.
