Consul-General Fukushima visited NASA’s Johnson Space Center (November 7, 2018)
On November 7th, Consul-General Fukushima visited NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston where he paid a courtesy call to its Director Mark Geyer.
Director Geyer expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation that Japan has provided to the U.S. and other partner countries in operating the International Space Station. He praised the science module JEM “Kibo” and the unmanned cargo transport HTV “Kounotori” provided by Japan, and acknowledged the exceptional contributions of JAXA and Japanese astronauts as essential to the program.
The Consul-General also visited the mission control center and astronaut training facility, where astronauts Akihiko Hoshide and Soichi Noguchi explained the routine operations of the facilities.
