Consul-General Fukushima was invited to attend the inauguration ceremonies for the governors of Oklahoma and Texas, which were held on January 14th and 15th respectively.
In Oklahoma, after attending the ceremony, the Consul-General offered words of greeting and congratulation to the newly inaugurated Governor Stitt. Together, they affirmed their cooperation toward strengthening ties between Japan and Oklahoma in the future, including the furthering of business and interpersonal exchanges.
In Texas, where Governor Abbott was inaugurated for another term, Consul-General Fukushima met with the newly appointed Secretary of State David Whitley. In their meeting, they agreed to begin discussions on arranging an official mission trip by Governor Abbott to Japan.
