Consul-General Fukushima attended the Japan-Texas Leadership Symposium (March 27, 2019)

On March 27th, Consul-General Fukushima attended the Japan-Texas Leadership Symposium in San Antonio, where he offered remarks during the event’s closing ceremony.
The symposium was hosted by the City of San Antonio and presented by Sister Cities International among other groups, and featured panels of experts from various fields who discussed how economic, cultural, and interpersonal exchanges between communities in Japan and Texas might be furthered at the grassroots level.
Ambassador Kazutoshi Aikawa, the Deputy Chief of Mission for the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C., offered remarks during the event’s opening ceremony, and Second Lady of the United States Karen Pence spoke about her belief in the importance of exchange with Japan, and shared memories of her interactions with Japanese students during the luncheon keynote address. The occasion served as an invaluable educational opportunity.
