Consul-General Fukushima hosted a social gathering for members of Houston Ballet (June 3, 2019)

On June 3rd, Consul-General and Madam Fukushima hosted Japanese dancers from Houston Ballet at their official residence for a social gathering. The ballet’s Music Director, Mr. Ermanno Florio, attended with his wife, as did company trustee Mrs. Akemi Saitoh, and they joined with everyone else in a discussion of past collaborations between Houston and Japan in the art of ballet, and a friendly exchange of ideas on opportunities for future cooperation. Houston Ballet is one of the nation’s leading ballet companies in terms of both size and popularity, and it has developed artistic productions featuring diverse talent from across the globe - including 8 dancers from Japan. Consul-General Fukushima offered his best wishes to the Japanese dancers and expressed hope that they would succeed and land leading roles in the future.
