On July 23rd, Consul-General Fukushima paid a courtesy call to the Honorable Toshihito Kumagai, Mayor of Chiba City, to further strengthen the long running sister city relationship between Chiba and Houston.
Consul-General Fukushima expressed his deep appreciation to the City of Chiba for advancing the relationship with Houston and fostering goodwill and friendship among the younger generations through its Youth Exchange Program. Consul-General Fukushima also asked Mayor Kumagai to consider paying another visit to Houston, since the Mayor of Houston is expected to visit Japan next year.
Mayor Kumagai again emphasized the importance of the sister city relationship between the two cities, and stated that he expects mutually beneficial developments, such as business exchanges, for the future.
