On November 12th, Consul-General Fukushima paid a courtesy call to Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.
Governor Stitt assumed his office at the beginning of the year, following a career in the world of business.

The Consul-General and Governor discussed the relationship between Japan and Oklahoma, which they believed was already strong and only growing stronger. They agreed that in addition to the sectors of traditional cooperation between their regions, such as natural resources and manufacturing, there should also be greater collaboration in other industries like aerospace, where high-tech Japanese companies could make significant contributions.

The two also discussed next year’s landmark 35th anniversary of the Kyoto-Oklahoma sister-state relationship. Governor Stitt expressed interest in leading an official delegation to Japan to mark the occasion as suggested by Consul-General Fukushima, and said that he would also consider hosting a seminar there on investing in his state.
