New Honorary Consul of Japan in Dallas

The Government of Japan appointed Dr. Hisashi Shichijo as new Honorary Consul of Japan in Dallas on August 1.
Dr. Shichijo is a research professor at the University of Texas at Dallas (Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering). He was born and raised in Kagawa, Japan, and worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas for 29 years. Dr. Shichijo, now a U.S. citizen, has been a board member of the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth for many years and a member of the Dallas Japanese Association.
Honorary Consul Shichijo succeeds Mr. John Stich, who served as the Honorary Consul of Japan in Dallas for 16 years until February this year. In coordination with the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston, Dr. Shichijo will work to protect Japanese nationals, support Japanese companies and promote understanding of Japan in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area and North Texas.
