School Visit Program
Members of the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston are available to come to your school to give a presentation on Japan and Japanese culture. The presentation can be tailored to meet your class lessons or your students’ interests. Typically, one or two staff members will teach the students about contemporary Japanese life, such as the school system, lifestyles, etc. with the use of visual aids such as maps, photos and videos. Following the presentation, arrangements can be made for a short cultural activity such as origami, calligraphy, storytelling, etc.
To request a school visit, please complete the School Visit Request Form and email to info@ho.mofa.go.jp. Please note that this service is only available to schools in the Houston area. If you are a teacher in other parts of Texas and Oklahoma, please feel free to contact us for more information about resources in your area.
