On April 18th, Consul-General Fukushima visited the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center in Corpus Christi, Texas to attend its annual meeting and to browse the Japanese Culture Collection and the recently renovated “Hakata Hall”.  Hakata Hall has one of the largest collections of Hakata Dolls in the United States. This collection contains nearly 500 Hakata dolls, from Japanese commoners’ dolls to Beauty dolls, and from Noh to Kabuki dolls, vividly conveying Japanese culture and customs. The museum expressed its intention to continue contributing to the friendship between the local community and Japan by promoting a greater understanding of Japanese culture, which the Consul-General mutually endorsed.
