2022/2/5

On January 24, Consul General Murabayashi paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of Dallas, Mr. Eric Johnson. At the meeting, Mayor Johnson expressed his desire to visit the City of Sendai later this year, to mark the 25th anniversary of its sister city relationship with Dallas. Consul General Murabayashi expressed his sincere appreciation for the support from Dallas to Sendai at the time of 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
The two also discussed economic relations, with Consul General Murabayashi mentioning that the number of Japanese companies in the fast growing Dallas-Fort Worth area has rapidly increased in recent years, and noting that the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has become very important for Japanese travelers because of its easy access to destinations in North America and beyond in Central and South America as well. On that topic, Mayor Johnson said he is actively working to improve Dallas’s investment climate, and hopes to attract even more Japanese business investment in the future.
