Tokyo Metropolitan Government and State of Texas Sign Statement Of Mutual Cooperation

On January 26, a virtual ceremony was held to sign a Statement of Mutual Cooperation (SMC) between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the State of Texas, which Consul General Murabayashi attended as a witness in Austin. The goal of the SMC is to assist Tokyo’s small and medium-sized business enterprises in expanding to Texas, with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism (EDT) working to organize 18 local economic development partners from across the state in providing assistance. Consul General Murabayashi spoke on the SMC, noting that it can also be used to assist Texas’s small and medium-sized business enterprises in expanding to Tokyo, and stressing his desire for stronger mutual economic exchange between the two regions.
