On January 30, Consul General Murabayashi visited Plano, Texas to welcome a delegation of small and medium-sized Japanese businesses visiting Texas as part of a global expansion program hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The economic exchange event was attended by Plano Mayor John Muns, President-elect of Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth, Lawrence Howorth, and Honorary Consul of Japan in Dallas, Dr. Hisashi Shichijo. In his welcoming remarks, Consul General Murabayashi noted that Japanese companies are increasingly expanding in Texas, and he expects this trend to continue. Mayor John Muns highlighted the low cost of business and high growth potential in Texas, and especially North Texas, which he emphasized as a region offering education, safety and a high-quality workforce. Honorary Consul Shichijo explained that Japanese companies choose Texas for its business-friendly environment, along with recent developments making life easier for Japanese residents.
