Discussion with the City of Houston Office of Emergency Management

On May 5th, Consul General Naganuma visited the City of Houston Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to discuss crisis control measures with Deputy Director and Emergency Management Coordinator, Thomas Muñoz.
Mr. Muñoz provided an overview of the city’s emergency response and alert procedures, while stressing the importance of readiness through staying informed and stockpiling supplies in advance.
Consul General Naganuma requested cooperation in the event that Japanese nationals are involved in any disasters, as ensuring their safety in one of the consulate’s top priorities. He and Mr. Muñoz agreed to closely coordinate during times of emergency.
