Visit to AISIN Texas Corporation

On October 4th, Consul General Naganuma visited AISIN Texas Corporation in Cibolo, near San Antonio, and received an overview of the company’s activities from President Kawatsu and other executives. He also observed the company’s manufacturing process for pickup truck transmissions, and saw the plant’s diverse work force of well-trained employees, working in a clean and well-equipped facility.
Consul General Naganuma acknowledged that the company had created approximately 1,000 jobs in the San Antonio metropolitan area, sourced approximately 64% of its (8-speed) transmission parts from within the United States, and engaged in community service activities, including support for Cibolo’s local food bank. He then thanked the company for its signifant contributions to the local community, the San Antonio region, and the U.S. economy, and expressed hope that these contributions would continue.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support the activities of Japanese companies in Texas.
