Recruitment Details
- Title: Accounting/Administrative Assistant
- Salary: Commensurate with experience
- Employment Status: Full time employee (Probationary period: three months)
- Working hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (one hour lunch break)
- Location: Consulate-General of Japan in Houston, 909 Fannin Street, Suite 3000, Houston TX 77010

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- General banking and account maintenance support.
- Assisting in timely payment processing across various accounts.
- Coordinating with the U.S. Department of State regarding ID and authorizations for diplomats.
- Preparing all necessary filings with the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol related to the arrival and delivery of incoming diplomatic cargo.
- Supporting the arrival and departure of incoming consulate officials, including arranging hotel reservations, assisting with travel, rental cars, apartment leases, and opening personal bank accounts.
- Assisting other sections of the consulate as needed.
- Performing other administrative tasks for consulate officers and staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work full time (9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday)
- English proficiency and business-level Japanese language skills
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Strong computer skills. Must be proficient in common software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
