2 Consul General Naganuma
On February 12, the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston hosted a reception at the Consul General’s official residence to promote student exchange between Japan and the United States by inviting Japanese science and engineering students participating in the U.S.-Japan Council’s TOMODACHI STEM Program and students from Rice University, where the program is being implemented. Rice University professors and program sponsors were also in attendance.

Consul General Naganuma began the reception by saying that participation in the program is a valuable, life-changing opportunity, and he encouraged the students to take full advantage of the experience and forge their own paths. He then expressed his wish that the Japanese and American students would build lasting friendships and contribute to the strengthening of Japan-U.S. relationships.

The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support youth exchange in Texas.
