          On February 26, Consul General Naganuma attended an event hosted by Daikin Comfort Technologies, North America, Inc. (Daikin) and the Houston Astros to celebrate Daikin Park, the new name for the team’s home stadium. The event marked a momentous occasion as Daikin became the first Japanese company to enter a naming-rights partnership with a Major League Baseball team.
 
          At the ceremony, Consul General Naganuma joined Daikin’s CEO Satoru Akama and Chairman of the Board Jiro Tomita, as well as Jim Crane, Owner and Chairman of the Houston Astros, and Steve Kean, President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership, in giving remarks expressing their best wishes for Daikin’s continuing contributions to the local community. More than 200 people attended the ceremony celebrating the new beginning for Daikin Park.
 
          The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support the activities of Japanese companies investing in Texas.
