2025/3/14

On March 12, the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston hosted a reception at the Consul General's official residence to promote student exchange between the U.S. and Japan by inviting Japanese students majoring in agriculture and students from Texas A&M University who are participating in the TOMODACHI Tanaka Sangyo Agricultural Exchange Program led by the U.S.-Japan Council. The sponsoring company and program planning organization also attended the reception.
Consul General Naganuma began the reception noting that climate change and agriculture-related issues are important problems that will have a significant impact on the future of humanity, and he expressed his hope that this program would be a valuable opportunity to learn about agricultural technologies and innovations in both countries. He also expressed his hope that the participants will serve as a bridge between the U.S. and Japan in the future in the areas of agriculture and climate change.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support youth exchange in Texas.
