On April 14, 2025, Consul General Naganuma attended the grand opening ceremony of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc.'s new headquarters office in Houston, Texas.
The ceremony was attended by Satoshi Hamada, President of the Japan Business Association of Houston, and Shinji Takechi, President of the Japanese Association of Greater Houston, among others. Guests praised Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America's contributions to the local community and expressed their hopes for the company's continued success.
In addition, Gigi Lee, Chief of the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Trade and International Affairs, attended the event and presented a proclamation from Mayor John Whitmire designating April 14, 2025 as "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Day.”
The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support the activities of Japanese companies investing in Texas.
