Conferment Ceremony of a Japanese Imperial Decoration for U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Ricky Rupp, Retired, Former Commander of U.S. Forces Japan

On May 22, a conferment ceremony of the Japanese Imperial Decoration was held at the official residence of the Consul General for Lt. Gen. Ricky Rupp, Ret., Former Commander of the United States Forces Japan and the 5th Air Force. Lt. Gen. Rupp was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, as announced on April 29, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to enhancing Japan’s security, developing the Japan Self-Defense Forces, and promoting friendship between Japan and the United States.
Consul General Naganuma congratulated Lt. Gen. Rupp and his wife, and presented him with the decoration certificate and the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. Lt. Gen. Rupp expressed his gratitude.
