Visit of the Chiba City Delegation Led by Mayor Kamiya to Houston

 From October 19th to 22nd, an official delegation from Chiba City, led by Mayor Kamiya, visited the city of Houston, Chiba sister city. On the 20th, the delegation attended a meeting with Houston City Mayor Whitmire and a welcome reception held at Houston City Hall. On the 21st, a reception co-hosted by Mayor Kamiya and Consul General Naganuma was held.
 During the visit, the city of Houston proclaimed October 20, 2025, as "Houston-Chiba Sister City Day" and Mayor Whitmire presented the proclamation to Mayor Kamiya.
 As a part of efforts commemorate the 900th anniversary of the founding of Chiba, Chiba City has launched a new flagship program, an entrepreneurship education program for high school students. Under this program, 10 selected students will be sent to Houston in August 2026.
 The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support sister city exchange activities in Texas and Oklahoma.
