On October 27, Consul General Naganuma met with Mr. Genjiro Hagino, President of Yamato Gokin Co., Ltd., which has recently decided to expand into Texas. President Hagino explained the company's manufacturing technology for special copper alloys such as Corson copper alloy and aluminum bronze, as well as its future investment plans.
Yamato Gokin Co., Ltd. decided to expand into Texas by participating in the Inter-regional Economic Expansion Program, implemented based on a memorandum of understanding between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the State of Texas. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, which is supporting the program's implementation on the Japanese side; Mr. Lawrence Howorth, President of Howorth International LLC, which is supporting the program’s implementation on the Texas side; and representatives from JETRO Houston.
Consul General Naganuma stated that advancing cooperation in the production of copper, a strategic material, would be beneficial for Japan-U.S. relations as a whole. He wished Yamato Gokin great success with the project and expressed his desire to cooperate with them.
