From November 13 to 16, a delegation of 23 members from Niigata City, led by Vice Mayor Nojima, visited Galveston to take part in events commemorating the 60th anniversary of their sister city relationship with Galveston City. On the 13th, the Niigata City delegation attended an exchange reception at the Consul General’s residence, and on the 15th, they participated in a celebratory event in Galveston hosted by the city.
During this visit, the Niigata City delegation enjoyed a full program—including meeting with Mayor Brown, visiting Texas A&M University at Galveston, touring the Galveston Railroad Museum, and boarding a cruise ship—and marked a new step forward in the long history of the sister city relationship.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston will continue to support sister city exchange activities among cities in Texas and Oklahoma.
