Participation in JETRO Drone & Aerospace Mission to Oklahoma

Lieutenant Governor Pinnell of Oklahoma and participants of the JETRO Drone & Aerospace Mission to Oklahoma, Mr. Naganuma, Consul-General of Japan in Houston
On November 19th and 20th, Consul General Naganuma participated in the JETRO Drone and Aerospace Mission to Oklahoma. He delivered remarks at a reception hosted by Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Pinnell on the 19th and at a breakfast hosted by Tulsa Mayor Nichols on the 20th.
This JETRO mission follows a meeting between Oklahoma Governor Stitt and JETRO Chairman Ishiguro, which took place in December 2024. Approximately 20 participants from the Japanese side joined the mission, including Ms. Fujii, Director-General of JETRO's Research & Analysis Department; Mr. Shimada, Chief Executive Director of the JETRO Houston Office; and representatives from Japanese companies in the aerospace sector. The delegation visited Oklahoma City and Tulsa from November 19th to 20th, undertaking activities that included visiting research institutions in the fields drone and aerospace, as well as exchanging views with industry stakeholders.
At the reception and breakfast, Lieutenant Governor Pinnell, Mayor Nichols, and Consul General Naganuma expressed their appreciation for JETRO's efforts to advance economic relations between Japan and Oklahoma. They also stated their confidence that exchanges between Oklahoma, with its long tradition and cutting-edge expertise in the drone and aerospace fields, and Japan would develop further.
The Consulate General of Japan in Houston will continue to support the strengthening of economic relations between Japan and both Oklahoma and Texas.
