Conferment of Head of Japanese Diplomatic Mission Abroad to the Japan America Society of Oklahoma and the Japan-America Society of San Antonio

On January 9, Consul General Naganuma presented the Conferment of Head of Japanese Diplomatic Mission Abroad to the Japan America Society of Oklahoma and the Japan-America Society of San Antonio at the Consul General’s residence. This award is to recognize individuals and organizations with outstanding achievements in international fields to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and is presented by the respective Japanese ambassador or consul general.

The presentation ceremony took place during the New Year’s reception hosted by the Consul General for representatives of the Japanese nationals in Oklahoma and Texas, where representatives from Japan-related organizations in Oklahoma and Texas (Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio) offered their congratulations to the two Japan-America Societies.

During the ceremony, Consul General Naganuma commended both associations, noting that their members have earnestly engaged in the promotion of Japan-U.S. exchange on a voluntary basis and contributed to the development of friendly relations between the two nations.

Mr. Furukawa, Vice President of the Japan America Society of Oklahoma and Ms. Kawabe, President of the Japan-America Society of San Antonio, respectively expressed their joy for the conferment and gratitude to those who have supported their organizations. They also stated their desire to continue contributing to the strengthening of Japan-U.S. friendship in the future.
