  On April 15, Consul-General Koyama, who assumed his duties on April 10, attended the “2026 Sun & Star Legacy Award” ceremony hosted by the Japan America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth in Dallas. On the occasion, Consul-General Koyama had the honor of meeting the award recipient, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and introduced himself in his new capacity as Consul-General.
 
  Governor Abbott extended a warm welcome to Consul-General Koyama upon his arrival in Texas, conveying his keen interest in further deepening the economic ties and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the State of Texas. The Governor looked forward to working closely with the Consul-General going forward. The Governor also shared his excitement about the prospect of watching the Japan national team play in Dallas during the FIFA World Cup 2026 this June.
