Mayor Wes Mays of Coppell City and Consul-General Koyama
On April 16, Consul General Koyama visited Mayor Wes Mays of Coppell City to introduce himself in his new capacity and discuss ways to strengthen ties between the city and Japan.
Mayor Mays explained that Coppell is a commercial city adjacent to DFW Airport, where many international companies are based, and that a variety of supportive policy measures are available for Japanese companies seeking to establish or expand business in the area surrounding the airport. It was also agreed that in the event of natural disasters or other emergencies, the Mayor would stay in close contact with the Consulate-General to help ensure the safety of Japanese nationals.
The Consulate-General will continue to contribute to the further development of economic and friendly relations between Japan and the State of Texas.
