Ten high school students from Chiba City¹ visited Houston to participate in the “Chiba City Innovators Academy²," organized as part of the 900th Anniversary of the Founding of Chiba. From August 3 to 6, the students attended an intensive entrepreneurship-focused program at the University of Houston.
On August 3, the ten participants paid a courtesy call to the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston, where Consul-General Koyama offered words of encouragement. During the meeting, the students shared their goals for the program and introduced their respective projects.
On August 6, the program’s final presentations were held at the University of Houston, where the ten students delivered their project plans. After receiving feedback from a panel of judges comprising Japanese company representatives and program organizers, all participants successfully completed the full curriculum. That evening, a reception was hosted by the Japan-America Society of Houston. Consul-General Koyama delivered congratulatory remarks to the ten students, encouraging them to utilize the problem-identification and -solving skills gained during the program as a foundation for their future success.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Houston remains committed to promoting sister-city relations as well as educational and cultural exchanges.
