Non-revenue ticket holders

(Visitors who are going to Japan for sightseeing or transit, and do not have any inviters or guarantors in Japan.)

Required documents (Each applicant must submit all of the following documents)
Do NOT staple/clip/tab documents, otherwise the visa application will not be processed.
 
1. Valid passport, with at least one and half blank visa pages for the visa to be stamped.
  • If you submit a PERMIT TO REENTER THE UNITED STATES or a TRAVEL DOCUMENT issued by the U.S. government, it must have a validity date at least six months beyond the date of visa application. 
 
2. Copy of picture page of your passport. 
 

3. One visa application form (Form 1-C), which must be typed or clearly printed in English and signed.
  • We do not accept Electric signature.
  • Check a sample to how fill the form.
  • Parents or a legal representative of a minor (5 years old or younger), please see sample application for signature.
  • An applicant with an arrest or criminal record must provide a copy of his/her court and/or arrest record (including cases that ended with an acquittal or pardon), along with an English translation of those documents if they are in any language other than English. Even if the case did not go to trial, please provide a letter that explains in detail the circumstances surrounding the arrest. We would like to know about the charges, time served, fees paid, and probation (if any).  
   *Nationals of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Belarus and Moldova are required to submit 2 copies of their application forms with a passport sized photo attached to it. 


4. One passport sized photograph taken within the last six months.
  • Please attach to visa application form with glue. No staples or tape.
  • It has to be a photograph -- no color-copy print-outs.
 
5. Copy of Immigration document showing your legal status and permitting reentry into the U.S., such as permanent residency card or U.S. visa.
  • If you have a green card, the front and back should be clearly copied so that the edges do not cut off.
  • If you have an U.S. visa, the visa page and approval letter or from from USCIS should be clearly copied so that the edges do not cut off. B1/B2 is not acceptable.
  • If you do not intend to return to the U.S. after exiting Japan, a visa to the next destination (if required) must be affixed to your passport before you apply for Japanese visa.

6. Copy of non-revenue ticket with your name on it.
  • Your complete round-trip flight itinerary, starting and ending in the US (Texas or Oklahoma). This should include all of the countries you are visiting other than Japan, if applicable.
  • Purchase is not required but it must be confirmed reservation.

7. A copy of the employee ID of the airline employee who obtained the flight coupon.
 

8. Letter from the airline proving the employee works for the airline, and that the applicant is authorized to use the non-revenue ticket. (Proof of your benefits)
 

9. Hotel reservations for all nights of your trip (Overnight stay).
  • It has to have your name on it.
  • If somebody else’s name on it, please write who the person is. 
 
10. Proof of sufficient funds to defray all expenses while in Japan (applicant's most recent bank statement) (Overnight stay).
  • If you are not paying for your trip, a letter of guarantee from the entity covering the cost of your trip is necessary, and copy of their bank statement and their ID.
11. Daily schedule in Japan. (Click here to get a form.)
  • Please make a detailed activity plan. No blank, and must write each day from your arrival day until departure day.
  • Contact should be your Hotel's phone number and address.
  • Accommodation should be the name of your hotel.
